2021-22 Safe Return to School In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan
Educational Delivery Phases (Based on COVID and Vaccination levels in the community)
1. Phase 1 – 100% of students attending school daily
2. Phase 2 – Hybrid: 50% of students attending school daily and 50% online from home
a. Meals will continue to be provided for all students via take-home to-go meals
3. Phase 3 – 100% of students online from home
a. Meals will continue to be provided for all students via delivery to communities
Foundational Safety Protocols for Safe Return to In-Person Instruction
1. All employees have been provided with the opportunity and resources to be vaccinated
2. Students and employees are required to wear masks
3. 3’ social distancing when practical and possible
4. Follow handwashing/sanitizing protocols
5. Follow cleaning/sanitizing protocols
6. Touchless technology for handwashing/sanitizing
7. Air quality – ionizing technology throughout the complex
8. One-to-One technology for students and employees
9. Students and employees practice self-screening
10. Students and employees should stay home when they have signs of any infectious illness and visit their healthcare provider for testing and care
11. Visitors are required to wear masks
District and School Offices
1. All offices will be open regular business hours

K-12 Classrooms

a. Ionizing technology is in the HS/MS gym and weight room

COVID Cases and Close Contacts
Symptomatic:
1. Students and employees must self-screen before school
2. Students and employees who are symptomatic at school will be isolated and sent home
Direct Contacts:
1. Direct contacts quarantined per CDC guidelines
2. The school district will conduct contact tracing
3. The school district will comply with Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Health, Education, and Welfare Committee /SD DOH notifications
Positive Cases:
1. Students or employees that test positive will be excluded from school per CDC guidelines
Services to Address Student Academic Needs
1. Employing certified interventionists
2. Data driven interventions
3. Implementing academic after school programs
4. Implementing summer school and academic summer camps
5. Continued financial support for student home internet services
6. Accommodations will be made to support students with special needs.
Health Needs
1.Provide support for student and employee physical, social, emotional, and mental health needs
a. Student
i. Counseling services are available for students when we are in-person, hybrid, or online
ii. Morning Meetings and Tiwahe Time are held daily when in-person, hybrid or online
iii. PE and music are held daily when we are in-person, hybrid, or online
iv. Students are given socialization time on Fridays when we are in-person, hybrid, or online
v. Student extracurricular activities continue when we are in-person, hybrid, or online
b. Employee
i. Counseling services are provided through our health insurance provider
ii. Staff members meet in teams to support each other every Friday
iii.Online resources are provided to staff as they come available
